NOTE FOR STARJET SJ48 USERS
Although BJ Chrome was designed for use with the Canon BJ10
series, it will work just as well with the SJ48 if you follow
two simple instructions. As with the BJ10, the SJ48 requires a
sheet feeder fitted for best results.
1) Select IBM ProPrinter mode from the software.
2) Leave the default setting of Epson LQ/NEC P6 on the printer.
Do NOT set the printer to IBM ProPrinter emulation.
I know it sounds illogical to set the software to drive the
PrPrinter and set the hardware to emulate the LQ/P6 but this is
the only combination which will work! If it's of any interest you
can use Canon BJ10 cartridges (colour or black) on your SJ48.
These give better results than the Star equivalents. Black
cartridges can be cleaned and refilled with colour ink kits
available from many suppliers. This gives substantial savings on
the cost of buying new colour cartridges.
